Mission Pinocchio: first major announcement for 2026 in Vohimana
The CCC is kicking off the year with the announcement of its very first new project for 2026: Mission Pinocchio, dedicated to the study and conservation of the Calumma pinocchio chameleon, a recently described species already considered one of the most emblematic of Vohimana in Madagascar.

Joint Chameleon Project in Morocco: Mission Report 1 and Launch of Mission 2
The study and conservation project for the common chameleon (Chamaeleo chamaeleon) led by Caméléon Center Conservation and Fauna Morocco in Morocco is entering a new phase. Following an initial mission dedicated to documenting threats and establishing the scientific framework for the project, the second field mission will begin this week, between late December and early January.

Start of mission in Iaroka: a new chapter begins
CCC has just opened a new chapter in its activities with the launch of its first field mission dedicated to chameleons in the Iaroka Forest in Madagascar. Located in the Ankeniheny–Zahamena Corridor, this forest remains largely unknown despite its ecological richness. Thanks to collaboration agreements signed with VOI Iaroka and IMPACT Madagascar, our teams can now carry out a comprehensive study and conservation programme there.

First field mission in Morocco tracking the common chameleon
Between August and September 2025, Fauna Morocco teams conducted the very first mission of the project "Study and conservation of the common chameleon (Chamaeleo chamaeleon) in Morocco", initiated in partnership with the Chameleon Centre Conservation (CCC).

New project in Morocco: management of seized chameleons and ecological assessment
Caméléon Center Conservation, in collaboration with Fauna Morocco, is launching a new research and conservation project in Morocco dedicated to the common chameleon (Chamaeleo chamaeleon). Although this species is relatively widespread in the country, its ecology, morphology and health status remain poorly understood. At the same time, this chameleon is subject to overexploitation and uncontrolled collection in the wild, leading to regular seizures by the authorities.

Makay 2025: Discovering chameleons and reptiles in a little-known mountain range
In May and June 2025, two missions to study and inventory chameleons and other reptiles were launched in the Makay massif in southwestern Madagascar. In collaboration with the Naturevolution association, these expeditions aim to update the list of known species and train eco-guards in the massif with the support of eco-volunteers.
