On 9 May 2026, the Caméléon Center Conservation organised the very first International Chameleon Day in Andasibe.
More than 1,000 participants - local residents, schoolchildren, students, scientists, guides, organisations, authorities and partners - came together to raise awareness of and protect the chameleons of Madagascar, a country that is home to nearly half of the world’s chameleon species.
The video offers a musical look back at the highlights of this exceptional day, bringing viewers up close to the participants, the activities and the atmosphere of this inaugural event.
