Corentin begins his master's thesis work in Madagascar

Since early November, Corentin Schürch, a Master's student in biology at the University of Neuchâtel, has joined our field team for three months of fieldwork dedicated to studying Parson's chameleon (Calumma parsonii parsonii).

An unprecedented scientific mission for the world's largest chameleon gets under way in Vohimana
Caméléon Center Conservation (CCC) is proud to announce the launch of a ground-breaking and ambitious scientific mission in the Vohimana reserve in Madagascar. For an entire year, an international, multidisciplinary team will be closely monitoring the world's largest chameleon: Parson's Chameleon (Calumma parsonii).

First results on Parson's chameleon presented at EAZA ARTAG 2025
During the joint meeting of the taxonomic groups for reptiles and amphibians (ARTAG) of EAZA (European Association of Zoos and Aquaria), held at Allwetterzoo in Münster from 12 to 17 May 2025, Benjamin Drouet – veterinarian and member of the Caméléon Center Conservation team – presented the first results of our project on Parson's chameleon (Calumma parsonii).

Parson's Chameleon Day – Sunday, 27 April at MUZOO
Come celebrate with us the Parson's chameleon (Calumma parsonii), a discreet giant of Madagascar's rainforests threatened by deforestation. This festive day will mark the end of the temporary exhibition at MUZOO (La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland) and highlight our conservation programme for the world's largest chameleon.
