We are pleased to announce that Zoopark Zájezd, located in the Czech Republic, has recently made its first payment to support the work of Caméléon Center Conservation. This support is the result of several awareness-raising and fundraising initiatives carried out with its visitors.

Concrete support from Zoopark Zájezd for chameleon conservation

Field actions to raise awareness

For several months, Zoopark Zájezd has been organising various activities to inform the public about chameleons and the challenges of protecting them. These include:

  • the ‘Běh pro chameleony’ charity run, designed to mobilise families around conservation,

  • educational activities explaining the lifestyle of chameleons and the threats they face,

  • fundraising campaigns linked to visits to the park or themed events.

These actions not only raise awareness among a wide audience, but also raise funds for our projects in Madagascar.

A contribution that strengthens our capacity in the field

The donation made by Zoopark Zájezd will directly contribute to:

  • training and equipping local guides involved in chameleon inventories in the Vohimana reserve,

  • supporting scientific missions carried out with Madagascan and European researchers,

  • and, more broadly, improving knowledge and conservation of chameleon species, particularly those that are most vulnerable.

This partnership demonstrates the importance of collaboration between European zoological organisations and in situ conservation initiatives. We would like to thank the Zoopark Zájezd team for their commitment and their practical and constructive approach to helping chameleons.
