The first stage of our project devoted to the Parson's chameleon (Calumma parsonii) has been completed with the arrival of 9 young animals born to several European breeders.

This Madagascan chameleon is classified as ‘Near Threatened’ (NT) by the IUCN. The decline in its population is potentially close to 30% over the last 15 to 18 years, making this chameleon close to being classified as an endangered species (Jenkins, et al., 2011).

This is the first step in helping to create a sustainable captive population of this species. We are still looking for private or zoological partners to help us develop this project.
