New support for the conservation of the Parson's chameleon

The Parson's chameleon (Calumma parsonii), the giant among chameleons, is in danger. Classified as ‘near threatened’ by the IUCN in 2011, its rapid decline threatens to push it towards the status of endangered species.

In 2023, we launched an ambitious conservation programme, combining in situ and ex situ projects to help this emblematic species of Madagascar.

Le Pal Nature Fondation

Today, we are proud to announce that the Le Pal Nature Foundation is providing financial support for our ex situ project. This support will help us to create a sustainable captive population in collaboration with European zoological institutions, while increasing public awareness and scientific research.

This commitment strengthens our determination and testifies to the importance of our mission.
