Understanding the formation and coexistence of species communities is essential for the preservation of our ecosystem. Our new PhD project proposal focuses on this crucial mission.
Previous research has highlighted the importance of evolutionary convergence and the concept of the ecomorph in lizards, particularly Anolis. However, these ideas have yet to be validated in other lizard species.
This is where the chameleons of Madagascar come in. These fascinating creatures provide an ideal backdrop for exploring these concepts, as they form complex communities on the island. Unfortunately, the data needed to do so is lacking.
This is why we are appealing to all financial partners interested in joining us in this scientific adventure.
Our integrative thesis project will focus on the morphology, performance and ecology of chameleon communities, enabling us to gain a better understanding of how these species allocate resources.
If you share our passion for preserving biodiversity and would like to contribute to a worthy cause, please contact us to find out more about this collaborative opportunity. Let's work together to advance science and conservation!
