Our association has launched an exciting new project!

Subject: Study of the thermal preferences and hydro-regulatory capacities of mountain chameleons.

In this exciting project, we will focus on the following key elements:

  • Collecting data on respiration and water loss in chameleons.

  • Exploring the thermal preferences of these fascinating creatures.

  • Studying the chameleons' selection of the hygrometric environment.

To achieve these objectives, we will be implementing an innovative experimental approach. Thanks to our ex situ breeding project, we are fortunate enough to have a population of mountain chameleons (Trioceros jacksonii xantholophus) that will be essential for carrying out this study.

We are proud to be collaborating with Herpeto-technique and the Centre d'Etudes Biologiques de Chizé - CEBC CNRS ULR on this project.

We look forward to sharing with you the results of this study, which will give us a better understanding of chameleons, their incredible ability to adapt and how fragile they are to environmental degradation.
